High School Diploma/GED and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).


Ensures compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards, Dept. of Job and Family Services, MVCDC personnel policies and procedures, and other regulations related to health, disability, nutrition, education and social services. Link families with the appropriate community health providers.  Serve as a liaison between families, staff and the health community.

Essential Job Functions
  • Physically able to work 40 hours per week.
  • Provide health services for assigned families.
  • Conduct training.
  • Demonstrate the ability to cope with stressful situations firmly, courteously, tactfully and with respect for the rights of co-workers, parents, children, and community persons.
  • Meet a variety of report deadlines (agency, state, and federal).
  • Conduct home visits with parents, if necessary.
  • Occasionally transport parents and/or children.
  • Valid Ohio Drivers License with good driving record and daily access to private, insured vehicle during working hours.
Prinicipal Job Functions
  • Carry forth the Mission, Vision, and Core Values MVCDC, Inc.; support the quality management principles; and work toward the agency and program goals.
  • Assists in the coordination of all individualized services for enrolled children, to include health, disabilities, nutrition, education and social services.
  • Assist in the completion of appropriate screenings and assessments (i.e. hearing, vision).
  • Assist with the monitoring, planning, and scheduling of Health resources to ensure services are available for children and families.
  • Assist with the intake process.
  • Support and participate in Health Services Advisory Meetings.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of training for parents, children, and staff in relation to the principles of health, disabilities, as well as assist in the training of staff in First Aid/CPR.
  • Facilitate required release of information referral process for suspected disability.
  • Review children’s files; provide follow-up as needed, and feedback to the appropriate staff.
  • Monitor inventory and security of health supplies.
  • Prepare, review, disseminate, and submit required reports to the appropriate MVCDC staff/supervisors to ensure accuracy and compliance with MVCDC policies and procedures, Headstart Performance Standards and ODJFS.
  • Ensures cleanliness, security, and appropriate use of agency property, equipment, materials and documentation.
  • Represent MVCDC professionally in manner and dress to staff, parents, volunteers, Board of Trustees, and community.
  • Conduct and participate in MVCDC staff/site meetings and trainings.
  • Adhere to agency confidentiality policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist in providing quality services to children and families.
