Berta Velilla has been CEO and President of MVCDC since May 2019. Previously, she was with Child Focus in Cincinnati, OH, and has a rich history with Head Start.

Steven M. Kandel,
Chief Operating Officer

Steven M. Kandel is our Chief Operating Officer. He came to us in July of 2022 after more than 23 years in public education as a teacher and administrator. 

Scott Siegfried,
Chief Innovation Officer

A former Head Start Lead Teacher, Scott Siegfried has been with MVCDC since 1991 and has served as Chief Innovation Officer since 2016.

Don Hoendorf,
Chief Financial Officer

Don Hoendorf is CFO of MVCDC. He joined the organization in June, 2019 and has 40+ years of financial experience with both profit and non-profit organizations.

Miami Valley Child Development Centers, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is part of the national Head Start network. We support families experiencing poverty, providing early learning opportunities for children from 6 weeks to age 5. Our Family Support Specialists help parents and caregivers become financially stable and self-supporting.
